Bedford METCO Program
The Bedford METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) Program has been an important part of our school community since 1974, when Bedford first partnered with the METCO initiative to provide greater educational opportunities and foster diversity within our schools. For more than four decades, METCO has connected students from Boston with the Bedford Public Schools, creating a learning environment that celebrates equity, inclusion, and shared experiences.
Our mission is to ensure that every student is supported, valued, and empowered to succeed academically, socially, and personally. The program also builds meaningful relationships among families, educators, and the broader Bedford community, enriching the lives of everyone involved. The Bedford METCO Program continues to honor its history while looking ahead to new opportunities for growth, connection, and student achievement.
