Dennis Kohut, Assistant Principal 

Dennis brings 18 years of experience from Swampscott High School, where he has served as an English teacher, English Department Head, Assistant Principal, and most recently, Principal (since 2019). His extensive background in both classroom instruction and instructional leadership makes him a strong addition to our administrative team. A resident of Concord, Massachusetts, Dennis is thrilled to join the BHS community. We look forward to the leadership and energy he will bring to BHS. 

Maurin O'Grady, Assistant Principal

Maurin O'Grady grew up in a neighboring town and stayed local to do her undergraduate and graduate work in Boston at Emmanuel College and Simmons University, respectively. Her first teaching position was as a long-term substitute at the now-defunct Our Lady of Grace School in Everett, Massachusetts teaching 5th and 6th grade English and Social Studies. Wanting to teach at the high school level, she joined the Melrose High School English Department and then continued teaching at Watertown High School. As an English teacher, she taught a variety of courses and levels, including World Literature, American Literature, Journalism, and AP Literature and Composition. Completing the Commonwealth Leadership Academy (for aspiring school leaders), she transitioned to a school administration role at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, where she served as Dean of Students - 3 years - and Associate Principal - 8 years - prior to coming to Bedford.
