Inclusive Practices Within the Classroom

Co-Taught Academics

General Education and Special Teachers co-plan and co-implement instruction to all students during a co-taught subject area (reading, writing, math). Accommodations,

modifications, and specially designed instruction are implemented within the general education classroom and based on the general education curriculum.

Mainstream supports and services

Special Education teachers and staff collaborate with General Education teachers to provide support and modifications within the general education classroom

to increase access and mastery of taught skills and content, as well as behavioral support.  


Reading specialists and staff collaborate to provide specialized reading instruction targeting decoding, encoding, and comprehension skills.


Related service providers and staff also provide services within the general education classroom to increase skills and strategies for generalization and application.
