Biographies

Jessica Colby - Principal

Jess Colby is excited to be working with children, staff and families in her new role as Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. She lives nearby in Woburn and grew up in Medford, Massachusetts. Jess became interested in teaching while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in child development at Tufts University. She continued at Tufts with a Master of Arts degree in child development focusing on supporting developing teachers, including children with special needs and the development of language and literacy. While at Tufts she began teaching in inclusive classrooms and then joined the Brookline Public Schools teaching integrated early childhood classrooms. While in Brookline Jess worked on various district wide initiatives including revisions to science curriculum, anti-bullying task forces and professional learning groups. She completed a master’s in school administration from Endicott College in 2014. Jess came to Bedford in 2014 and taught Kindergarten at Davis for two years before taking on the roll of Assistant Principal in 2016.
