Superintendent Chuang Transition Letter to Bedford Community

June 1, 2023

Dear Bedford Community,

I am humbled and honored to be joining the Bedford community as the next superintendent of schools beginning July 1, 2023. I am writing to let you know that current Superintendent Philip Conrad and I sent a transition plan to town and district leadership last week providing a high-level overview of transition activities for the next few months. We collaborated to develop this shared document to outline priorities and action, and we will continue to do so. It sets the stage for a formal entry plan that I will develop and share with the Bedford School Committee and community later this summer. We are committed to and excited for a strong and seamless leadership transition for the Bedford Public Schools.

While I have been finishing up my current position at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, I have been informally attending Bedford Public School events this spring, including school committee meetings, the BHS and JGMS musicals, the BHS music majors concert, the High School Tenacity Challenge, sporting events, the Davis School Bingo for Books night, and Lane School concert. It’s been wonderful to see Bedford students in action, and I’ve really enjoyed meeting many of you at these events.

I will be hosting a number of opportunities to meet with families and community members over the summer and during the next school year, with additional details forthcoming in July. I look forward to getting to know and learning from the families of Bedford.

Sincerely,
Cliff Chuang 莊 宏 毅
