Important Message Regarding School Safety

Dear Bedford Public Schools families,

As you may be aware, there is an active shooter situation in the Lewiston, Maine, area that is still evolving. I am in close contact with Police Chief Fisher, who is in close contact with regional law enforcement partners and taking every necessary precaution to keep our schools and community safe. Please note that our staff are well-trained to address emergency situations and are taking necessary additional precautions. Principal Hartunian will be sending some additional information to 6th grade families whose children are at Nature's Classroom in Freedom, NH, but please know that School Resource Officer Justin Brooks is onsite with the 6th graders and is also in close contact with law enforcement partners.
