22-23 Summer Reading Lists!

For 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades

Hello JGMS Families,

We hope everyone's summer is going well.   Please see the summer reading list below for each grade.

6th Grade Reading:

In the 6th grade we strongly suggest that all students participate in our summer reading program.  This summer students have a choice to pick from four different books; they  can choose to read one or even all of them!  Many are available at the Bedford Public Library, as well as many bookstores. In the fall students will meet together to celebrate finishing the books and to discuss what they have read.  The four books are:

Front Desk by Kelly Yang  https://www.amazon.com/Front-Desk-Scholastic-Gold-Kelly/dp/1338157825/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Front+Desk+by+Kelly+Yang&qid=1623767837&sr=8-1

Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar https://www.amazon.com/Fuzzy-Mud-Louis-Sachar/dp/0385370229/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Fuzzy+Mud+by+Louis+Sachar&qid=1623767880&sr=8-1

New Kid by Jerry Craft  https://www.amazon.com/New-Kid-Jerry-Craft/dp/0062691198/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=New+Kid+by+Jerry+Craft&qid=1623767907&sr=8-1

Unsung Hero of Birdsong USA by Brenda Woods  https://www.amazon.com/Unsung-Hero-Birdsong-USA/dp/1524737119/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Unsung+Hero+of+Birdsong+USA+by+Brenda+Woods&qid=1623767939&sr=8-1

7th and 8th Grade Reading:

Summer reading book options are: One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams Garcia, Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong by Shen and Hick, Roller Girl by Victoria Jaimeson, Refugee by Alan Grata or The End of the Wild by Nicole Heglet.  Even though there is not a required summer reading program here at JGMS, we would like to encourage all of the incoming students to read this summer. Copies of the book are at the Bedford Public Library, Barnes & Noble, and the Concord Book Shop.

See you in September!
