6th Grade Locker Days for 23-24 School Year

Dear Families,

We are excited to offer an opportunity for your rising 6th grader to come to JGMS this August and see their locker, practice opening it, and even setting it up if they choose.  We will offer Rising 6th Grade Locker Days on the following days:

Thursday, August 17 from 9:00am - 12:00pm

Tuesday, August 22  from 9:00am - 12:00pm

It is not required for your child to attend.  If they cannot attend they will get their locker on the first day of school and they will not be alone.  There are many students who wait to get their locker on the first day and teachers will be helping students throughout the first week navigate this exciting time.

Please note, in order for us to continue to prepare for the school year, these will be the only days this summer we share locker information with families and this opportunity is only available to rising 6th graders.  7th and 8th graders will be assigned to a locker on their first day of school.

Here are some locker tips and expectations that will help your child with this transition.  The locks at JGMS are standard locks that open exactly like a standard combination padlock.  Whether you come to locker day or not, if your child is anxious about their locker, we suggest purchasing a combination padlock and practicing opening the lock as a way of preparing.
