Dear Grade 5 Families,

We are so excited to welcome your 5th grader to JGMS!  This spring, I have been in close communication with grade 5 teachers, and it is clear how much care they put into supporting all students.  In our meetings, we agreed on dates for grade 5 student orientations, including a day when JGMS students visit Lane students and another when Lane students visit JGMS.  Just this week, we finalized our parent information night date (6/10/2026) and updated our JGMS Transition Newsletter with that information and more.  This spring, staff at JGMS and Lane will collaborate regularly on students and how we can best meet their needs.  Since you know your 5th grader the best, we are also hoping to learn from you as well.

In the newsletter, you will find links to forms that will be helpful during the transition.  This includes instructions for how to access Aspen in a child’s account, Parent/Guardian: Student Input Forms, and Music Selection options.

Finally, you can visit the JGMS website to access this letter and the newsletter link. I expect there may be some questions, and I hope you will reach out to me directly so I can support you and your child.  We look forward to meeting you and your 5th grader soon.  If you need anything or have any questions, my office is open to you.
