Lane School Band

Welcome to the Lane School Band!

Band lessons are offered during school and free of charge for fifth grade students.  Students receive a 40 minute lesson once per week with like instruments. As we approach each concert the entire band will rehearse before school to learn how to play as an ensemble.  The morning band schedule is shared via email from Mrs. O'Toole.

To register their child, parents should log in to Aspen and click on the grey "initiate" button on the right hand side.  Choose the workflow called "Elementary Music Ensembles" and follow the feed of information.  Be sure to read the information that is presented at that time.  Detailed instructions can be found on the left side of this page ~ go to "Registering for Ensembles Using Aspen."

BOOK: Sound Innovations for Concert Band Book 1     (Be sure to choose the instrument your child is learning.  Percussion students should choose the "Combined Percussion" book.)  Area rental companies can also supply this book.  Directions on how to use the book's online resources can be found at the bottom of this page under attachments.

INSTRUMENTS: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone Horn/Euphonium, and Percussion (snare drum & bells)

Instruments can be rented from a vendor of your choice.  Area vendors include Leonards Music and Music & Arts.  Be wary of instruments purchased from box stores or large online shopping sites.  If you need help in choosing a quality brand please contact Mrs. O'Toole.  If your family already owns an instrument it's a good idea to be sure the instrument is working properly.
