ELL Support at the Lane School

There are several ways that your child can receive ELL support at the Lane School.  The ELL teacher may push into the classroom and support your child with the content while your child remains in the classroom. This could occur during writing, social studies or science blocks. During ELA (English Language Arts), your child could also meet with the ELL teacher to receive reading instruction in a small group or remain in the classroom with the ELL teacher who helps your child to access the curriculum in the classroom. Additionally, the ELL teacher may provide support during the WIN (What I Need) block. During the WIN block, the ELL teacher generally supports the social studies or science curriculum by providing additional time and a more indepth review of  academic vocabulary that is taught in those subjects. Your child could also receive additional writing or reading instruction during the WIN block, depending on the current needs of your child.
