Freshman Transition

Dear Incoming Ninth Graders and Parents/Guardians,

Bedford High School is excited to welcome the class of 2024 to our school community. Though the official start of your BHS career will not occur until September, the process of building your schedule for next year begins this month. The goal of this process is to develop a course load that challenges you while also allowing you to develop your current interests and abilities and try new areas to stimulate new interests. There are multiple opportunities to have discussions and engage in reflection around the direction of your academic career at BHS. Be honest with yourself about your abilities, time constraints, and interests. Ask questions and seek out the advice and guidance of the adults in your life, be they your parents, teachers, or counselor. Work toward finding a balance between the rigor of the classroom and the demands of other activities outside of the classroom. Finding that balance is essential to your success and well-being as you progress through high school.
