PRESS RELEASE

TOWN OF BEDFORD, MA

MARCH 7, 2020

Late Saturday, Town health officials were notified that a Bedford resident has been in direct contact of a recently identified presumptive positive COVID-19 case. The resident underwent testing, and is awaiting results. The resident is currently under quarantine at home, and being monitored by the Bedford Board of Health. For precaution, the Town has also advised that the family members of the resident quarantine at home until test results are received.

One of the family members is a student at Bedford High School. The student will remain quarantined at home until the impacted parental test results have been received. To ensure the safety of students, all Bedford High School bathrooms, classrooms, railings, door knobs and cafeteria have now been disinfected, and a cleaning crew will come into the High School first thing tomorrow, morning, March 8, 2020 to disinfect the auditorium, the LGI and all common areas to prepare for opening of school on Monday, March 9, 2020.

The Town will update residents via the Town website, and social media, as soon as we receive further information.
